My current body of work emerges from cycles of freedom and restraint. Bursts of creative energy contend with strict boundaries. Decisive changes in color or texture create tension between layers of paint and paper, each marking new conceptual or physical directions. As I paint I am continually pivoting, reevaluating and letting go, much like I do in my personal life. Yet beneath even the most confident actions, traces of the past never fully disappear. The result is a fragile and poignant elegance, a graceful walk on the tightrope between hope and powerlessness.
